Privacy Policy
Effective November 1, 2026
Cineica never uploads your photos. Cineica has no accounts, shows no ads and never tracks you. It sends a small amount of anonymous usage data so we can see how the app is used, and none of it is linked to you.
Camera
Cineica uses the camera to take photos. Each photo is developed on your iPhone and is never uploaded anywhere.
Photo library
Cineica saves your photos to your Photos library. If you choose to import, it reads the photos you pick from your library so it can apply the look. This happens on your iPhone only.
Location
Location access is optional. If you allow it, Cineica writes where each photo was taken into that photo's own metadata, the same way the built-in Camera app does. The location is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can turn it off at any time in Cineica or in Settings.
Anonymous analytics
Cineica records how the app is used, such as photos saved, looks and settings changed, onboarding steps and whether permissions were granted. Each event carries the app version, your device model, your iOS version and a random install ID that Cineica creates on first launch. The install ID is not tied to your name, Apple ID, email or any other app, and it resets if you reinstall. Events never include your photos or your location. They are stored with our database provider, Supabase, and are used only for analytics.
Cineica also downloads a few app settings from the same provider. That request sends nothing about you.
Apple Ads
On first launch, Cineica asks Apple's AdServices framework whether the install came from one of our ads on the App Store. Apple returns only campaign, ad group, keyword and ad IDs, or that the install did not come from an ad. Cineica stores that result with its anonymous analytics. This needs no tracking permission and includes no personal information.
Purchases
Any purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, email address or payment details.
What we don't do
Cineica does not track you across apps or websites, does not read your device's advertising identifier and never asks for tracking permission. It has no ads inside the app and no crash reporters. We do not sell data.
Children
Cineica is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If Cineica's privacy behavior ever changes, this page and its effective date will be updated before the change ships.
